In the original story=2C there is a center=2C and there are peripheries. T=
he Good Witch of the North is benevolent and protective of her people. Gli=
nda=2C in the original book=2C is her counterpart as the Good Witch of the=
 South=2C while the witches of the East and West are evil. In later adapta=
tions=2C the characters Glinda and the Good Witch of the North were combin=
ed=2C a move that mirrors how expansionist narratives are often framed by=
 the voice of power. In this case=2C it was determined by who had the powe=
r to tell the story.
