Histories of social movements like the farm worker movement are often told =
through the lens of charismatic leaders who helped bring about social chang=
e. While leaders play an important role in the success of social movements,=
 the collective efforts behind social change are often overlooked. Understa=
nding the history of the California farm worker movement that emerged durin=
g the Delano grape strike (1965-1970) through a lens of collective action, =
helps students reflect on the power of collective action in enacting transf=
ormative social change as well as see themselves as civic participants.
